Russia will be technologically ready to shelf hydrocarbons production only within 10-12 years, G. Shmal, the President of the Russian Oil and Gas Producers’ Union said at  the conference ‘The Modern Economic Policy and the main points of the growth of the Russian Oil and Gas Sector’. In his opinion, today the state is neither technically, nor technologically or economically ready for the full-fledged entrance to the shelf, especially in the Arctic area. Russia does not even have its own platforms. The Prirazlomnaya platform was made within 15 years, and it’s the only one.
