Gas escapes abroad
Russia is the largest supplier of raw hydrocarbons to the world markets. Oil and gas extraction form the largest part of the state budget. However, it would be more profitable to produce and export higher added value products. This point of view was expressed by almost every participant of the oil and gas processing international forum-2013.
“The whole world energy paradigm is changing. Russia’s oil and gas chemical processing lags behind”, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Creon Energy Fares Kilzie noted. “Today successful functioning of the market is threatened by the existing model when the companies having exclusive access to the raw materials for development of oil-refining and petrochemical production can independently specify the way of their industrial development. The can directly influence some governmental decisions (the amount of the duties and technical standards), as they are oriented to the largest margin in short-term prospect”.
