Russia. Some problems with an attraction of Chinese money

Russian companies find it difficult to attract funds in China. According to Kommersant, the negotiations of NOVATEK with Chinese banks on the appropriation of funds for “Yamal LNG” have dragged on. Therefore NOVATEK increased request to the National Wealth Fund from 100 billion to 150 billion roubles. “Gazprom” has similar problems, i.e. regarding investing of the gas pipeline “Sila Sibiri”. The Ministry of Economy considered “Yamal LNG” a strategic one. The request is likely to be approved. It can also ease the dialogue with China, which insists on an increase of a share of the state funding in the project.
