“Vankorneft” paid 2.35 mln roubles for oil spill in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area

Yamalo-Nenets Environmental prosecutor’s office made enquiries about the incident at main oil pipeline of CJSC “Vankorneft”.

It is determined that CJSC “Vankorneft”, registered in Krasnoyarsk region, which develops the Vankor deposit. There was spilled 4 tons of oil at one of the segments of the main oil pipeline “Vankor deposit – final oil processing station “Purpe” in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area on August 22, 2013. It happened because of deformation of the oil pipeline’s wall during heat growth and simultaneous local sagging. About 3 ha of soil cover of the forest resources of Krasnoselpuksky forestry has been polluted as a result. The aggregate damage makes up 2 million 350 thousand roubles..
