Gazprom and Edison discussed Russian gas supply to Europe via the Black Sea

​Gazprom and Edison (Italy) have discussed the process of realization and perspectives of cooperation in the framework of the memorandum of supplies of the Russian gas to Europe via the Black Sea.

The head of Gazprom, A. Miller, and executive Vice-President of EDF, CEO of Edison SpA. M. Benayun, discussed the preliminary results of assessment of various configurations of the project.

The participants also considered the issues of supply of the Russian gas to Edison.

Edison SpA is in the structure of EDF. The main directions of activity of Edison are the purchase, exploration, extraction and sale of hydrocarbons, production and sale of electric energy.

In Feb 2016 Gazprom Edison Spa and DEPA SA signed a memorandum of understanding in respect of natural gas supply from Russia via the Black Sea and via the third countries to Greece and from Greece to Italy aiming for the organization o the southern route of Russian gas supply to Europe. The parties plan to use the results of works in full held by Edison and DEPA in the framework of the ITGI Poseidon project.
