Russian mining companies reduced iron ore output by 4.5%

In May 2015, Russian mining companies reduced the extraction and production of iron ore raw materials in annual and monthly terms.

According to the Federal Service for Statistics of Russia, in Jan-May 2015 the mining companies extracted 30.3 mln tons of crude iron ore, by 0.4% less than in Jan-May 2014.

The extraction of iron ore in Russia in May fell by 1.1% against April, and by 4.5% against May 2014.

Coal extraction in May 2015 rose by 8.5% in annual terms, and by 2.9% against April. In Jan-May 2015 coal extraction in Russia rose by 8.5%.
