Kazakhstan intends to launch 6 new mining and metallurgical projects in 2015

6 new projects in the mining and metallurgical complex are planned to be launched in Kazakhstan this year, the First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev reported on Wednesday.

"We have already implemented the state program of forced industrial-innovative development in 2010-2014, as a result 60 new enterprises for $2.5 billion are launched in the mining industry, more than 16 thousand permanent jobs are created, in the current year we plan to launch six more projects," - he said.

He recalled that the mining and metallurgical complex is one of the key areas of the country’s economy: its share is almost a fifth of the country's GDP, i.e. 19%, 300 thousand people work at enterprises of the industry.
