EC to decide on the extension of OPAL gas pipeline before July, 14

The decision to expand the Opal gas pipeline should be taken before July 14th. "The European Commission must give an answer on the status of the gas pipeline by July 14th," - said head of German Wintershall Russia ,M.Meren. According to the representative of the German company, in November, all the documents were signed, all compromise agreements between the EC and the gas pipeline owners - Gazprom and Wintershall – were achieved. However, in February the European Commission required some additional documents, M.Meren continued. "It's been a couple of insignificant issues; on April 30th, the EC notified us that it would send its decision to us on July 14," - he said. Wintershall doesn’t rule out holding of the second auction for Opal’s capacity in 2014.
