Turkey is ready to take a proposal on a construction of South Stream

Turkey is ready to assess the possibility of laying gas pipeline “South Stream” via its territory, if Russia comes up with such proposal. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey T.Yildyz said.

South Stream is built for the transportation of Russian gas to South and Central Europe beyond Ukraine. The basic project presupposes underwater route via the Black Sea as far as the coast of Bulgaria. The land-based route via Turkey will allow reducing an offshore part of the pipeline.
