Rosatom to sign a contract by a nuclear power plant in Egypt soon

​Rosatom intends to sign a contract for the construction of the nuclear power plant in Egypt soon, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, D. Manturov, said on the results of the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, S. Shukri.

On November 19th 2015 Russia and Egypt signed the intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Egypt.

The nuclear power plant will be constructed on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the area of El Dabaa by the Russian technologies.

The nuclear power plant will have 4 energy blocks with the capacity of 1,200 mW each.

On November 30th 2015 Russia was reported to issue a $25 bln loan to Egypt for the construction of the nuclear power plant.
