Mynbaev: works at Kashagan are held according to the schedule

​The head of KMG couldn’t name the time of the start of commercial oil extraction at Kashagan.

The welding works at the Kashagan deposit are held in conformity with the schedule, in this connection oil extraction at the deposit might start in October 2016, the head of KMG, S. Mynbaev, said.

There are difficulties with the welding works: the sea temperature is lower was expected. The respective measures were preliminarily taken.

The criterion of reaching the commercial extraction is 75 thousand barrels a day.

The extraction at Kashagan was frozen in September 2013, 2 weeks after the start, due to gas leakage. Right after the renewal of extraction in October 2013 another leakage was found out. The analysis showed that the presence of numerous micro leak paths in the pipeline appeared as a result of accompanying gas influence with high sulfur contents on the metal.
