Europe looks for alternative to Russian gas in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan

The European Union is developing a strategy for the supply and storage of liquefied natural gas, as well as it is engaged in construction of new pipelines to reduce the dependence on energy supplies from Russia.

This as reported by the EU Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete in Madrid at the meeting on Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

«TAP is a reality. The necessary permits have been already obtained and problems in the field of environmental protection as in Greece, as in Italy have been solved, and therefore it is at an advanced stage,"- said Cañete.
