The United Nations Organization passes Oil-bearing area in the Sea of Okhotsk over to Russia

The United Nations Organization has passed 52 thousand kilometers in the central part of the Sea of Okhotsk to Russia.This decision was been taken by the Commission for the Continental Shelf.

As RBK reports citing “Russia 24”, the decision of the United Nations Organization is in fact a legal formality. The decision was taken as far back as in November 2013.

The energy resources take 40% of the territory, which fall under Russian control, according to experts. There are oil and gas resources at the shelf.
