Tatneft to increase the stake of horizontal wells’ drilling to 70%

“The rise of efficiency of development of Tatarstan’s oil deposits with the use of wells with the horizontal end” this work of a group of managers and specialists of Tatneft OJSC has been granted the State award of Tatarstan 2014 in the sphere of science and technics.

Tatneft OJSC plans to increase the stake of wells with the horizontal end in the total volume of drilling to 70% in 2015, is said in the explanatory note to this work.

The main technologies the company’s specialists pay attention to are: the drilling of horizontal, multi-lateral wells, horizontal sidetracks, horizontal wells with multiple hydraulic fracturing of the layer, i.e. drilling of wells with the horizontal end, is said in the explanatory note. The use of wells with the horizontal end allows to raise the efficiency of wells, oil recovery of layers with low collecting properties and layer pressure, profitability of operation of inefficient layers of hydrocarbons.
