The Ukraine to cut gas consumption in winter by 10% - Naftogas

To keep the right balance, this winter the Ukraine needs to reduce the gas consumption by 20% compared to the 2013-2014 winter. So NAK Naftogas suggested a plan according to which the industry and heat generating enterprises will decrease the gas consumption by 30%, budget organizations and the population – by 10%, the head of NAK Naftogas, A. Kobolev said.

On the current gas balance, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ukrainian consumers are expected to use in autumn-winter 2014-2015 about 36 bln cubic m of gas. 10 bln cubic m of this volume is gas extracted in the Ukraine. Another 6 bln cubic m is expected to be shipped from Europe- from Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. The other 10 bln cubic m of gas is planned to be taken from the underground reserves of the Ukraine.
