Gazprom has explained the reasons for reduction in gas transit via Slovakia

Gazprom has explained the reasons for reduction in gas transit via Uzhgorod gas pipeline to Europe via the territories of the Ukraine and Slovakia. The official representative of Gazprom, S. Kupriyanov says that now much of its gas is transported via Yamal – Europe gas pipeline after repairs that’s why the supplies via Slovakia are less.

In comparison to average transporting for the latest 2 weeks, the volume declared by Gazprom for September 15th was reduced by 17%, and even by 21% versus the maximum result for September 2014.

The Slovakian gas operator Eustream reports that Gazprom is going to transport via Slovakia only 49.6 million cubic m today compared to 63 million cubic m on September 3rd. In June 2014, while the planned repairs of Nord Stream, Russian gas transporting via Uzhgorod gas pipeline was 15 million cubic m a day.
