What happens to gas tariffs after Ukrainian shale revolution

The forecasts of authorities and experts differ.

The Cabinet Council expects that the start of shale gas extraction will help maintain the existing gas prices for district heating companies, Kommersant-Ukraine reports.

On Friday Ukrainian PM, Nikolai Azarov claimed, the prime cost of the gas which would be extracted at Yuzovskaya gas area would make up $120-130 per 1 thousand cubic metres. At the same time, Azarov emphasized, 60% of the gas extracted would be given to Ukrainian party.
