Still no decision from the EC on the OPAL gas pipeline despite the dealine being yesterday

The term for the outcome of the EC decision on the OPAL gas pipeline capacity expired yesterday at 24.00 CET, a spokesman of the German company Wintershall stated. "Yet there is still no decision from the European Commission about the transport facilities in the OPAL pipeline, which is still idle. It expires today (July 15) at 24:00. We can not give you any more information as yet", - he stated before. He also stated that since September 2013, "together with the Federal Network Agency and the EU Energy Commissioner we are agreed on addressing the issue". "This decision requires that 50% of the connecting OPAL pipeline capacity, which is idle, will be allowed to be used under the status of "partially regulated" in an auction conducted on transparent and non-discriminatory terms. But the EU Energy Commissariat has still not officially approved this decision, although the full answers to any additional questions were given in December. This belated decision harms the investors and consumers in Europe", - the representative of the German company Wintershall stated.
