Conditions of Bashneft’s privatization are not clear as yet

The conditions of Bashneft’s privatization are not clear as yet, Lukoil’s head, V. Alekperov, said.

In early June he said that Lukoil hadn’t applied for Bashneft’s privatization and was not aware of all conditions.

Previously the President Putin excluded Bashneft out of the list of strategic enterprises allowing the sale of the entire stake of the Government in the company. In late April the first Vice-PM I. Shuvalov said that the Government was negotiating on Bashneft’s privatization with potential buyers. The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, A. Ulyukaev, said on May 24th that Tatneftegas and NNK had filed 2 applications and Lukoil applied orally.

The head of Lukoil hoped that the Government would sell the entire package of Bashneft, however, said that Lukoil doesn’t plan to buy the asset at any price. The head of Bashneft, A. Korsik, considers preferable that the Government keeps partial control over the company.
