The European Commission proposes its own way of overcoming the crisis.

The representatives of the European Commission put forward their proposals on resolving the gas dispute between Moscow and Kiev. Guenther Oettinger, the EU Energy Commissioner, acquainted the members of the trilateral meeting held in the capital of Ukraine with them, "Interfax" reports.

The representative of the European Commission urged the Ukrainian side to repay half of the debt of two billion dollars as soon as possible. Kiev must pay the rest before the end of the year. At the same time Moscow was asked fro the condition that the gas supplies should not be terminated.

In addition, the EU Commissioner suggested a "fork" price: $ 300 per thousand cubic meters of gas in the summer and $ 385 - in the winter. Oettinger stated that the Ukrainian side has already agreed with the proposed option out of the crisis.
