The Ukraine reduced metal scrap export and increased its import by 4 times

​The main supplier of metal scrap to the Ukraine in January-April 2016 was Turkey which also stays the main importer of the Ukrainian ferrous metal scrap.

In January-April 2016 the Ukraine reduced the export of ferrous metal scrap by 76.9% against January-April 2015 to 94.021 thousand tons.

In monetary terms the Ukraine lost over $84 mln of its export revenue in January-April 2016.

In April the export of metal scrap in natural terms made up 82.473 thousand tons while in Q1 2016, 11.548 thousand tons of metal scrap were exported.

On April 21st the Supreme Rada increased the export duty for the shipment of ferrous metal scrap to 30 euro/ton.

In January-April 2016 the metallurgical enterprises of the Ukraine increased the import of metal scrap in natural terms by 4.3 times to 4.663 thousand tons.
