Investment of Norilsk Nickel into company’s development to make up $6 bln

​In 2016-2018 Norilsk Nickel plans to invest about $6 bln into the development of its assets, the President of Norilsk Nickel for strategic planning, S. Dubovitsky, said.

For the past 5 years Norilsk Nickel invested $11.5 bln, including about $6.6 bln in 2010-2012 and $4.9 bln in 2013-2015.

In 2016 the total investment of Norilsk Nickel is planned at $1.5 bln, plus over $500 mln into the construction of the Bystrinsky GOK.

Mr. Dubovitsky spoke about the plans of Norilsk Nickel for the coming 3 years which presuppose a stable production of nickel and metals of palladium group as well as a significant growth of copper production – by 1.5 times.

We confirm a stable volume of nickel and platinum group metals production in 2017-2018, with the growth of copper production by means of the launch of the Bystrinsky GOK (+40 thousand tons of copper in concentrate in 2018) and the growth of output at the Talnakh projects, he said.
