The USA appeals to Russia and Ukraine to agree on gas supplies, a spokesman for the US Department Marie Harf says.
“There are issues to be solved. We hope they will negotiate all the questions without threats and enforcement,” Harf said. According to her, the USA hopes that the issues, concerning gas price and transit, will be agreed soon.
The USA takes an active part in the situation. They announced about taking steps for an increase of “energy safety” of Ukraine and the EU, which means a reduction of Russian gas supply and its replacement from other sources. The USA promised to replace possible losses by own supply. But the first gas supply from America is possible not earlier than at the end of 2015
