Rosneft has independently started the drilling of the first exploration well at the Northern Chaivo deposit at the Sakhalin 1 project. Those that participated in the ceremony were the President of Rosneft I. Sechin and the Governor of the Sakhalin region A. Khoroshavin. The largest projects of Rosneft in the region are the shelf development, the creation of the ship building cluster, the construction of Eastern oil chemical combine and an LNG plant at Sakhalin. The model of Northern Chaivo development presupposes the applying of innovational drilling technologies. The work will be held with the use of the unique Yastreb utility. The efficiency of the project is provided by the use of capacities of the infrastructure created at Sakhalin 1.
