"Gazprom" takes the first place in the Russian electricity market.

In the central office of "Gazprom" the press conference "The strategy of "Gazprom" in the electric-power industry" was held. During the event, it was stated that the "Gazprom" group takes the first place in the Russian electricity market in terms of installed electric (about 38 GW) and heat (over 70 thousand Gcal/h) power.

In 2013 the main companies of the Group ("Mosenergo", TGC - 1 and OGK - 2) produced 158.6 kW/h of electricity (-5 % of the production volume in 2012), 99.7 million Gcal of heat energy (-1.4 %). The main reasons for the decrease of the electric power production are the minimization of inefficient power plants load and the decrease in demand for electricity. Warmer weather conditions influenced the rate of the heat production.

In 2013 in this case the total revenue of "Mosenergo", TGC- 1 and OGK -2 under IFRS amounted to 338.6 billion roubles (+4.6%), EBITDA – 51.7 billion roubles (+11.7 %), the net profit - 18 billion roubles (+15.4 %). It is expected that by the end of this year the total production of electricity by these three companies will be 167.5 billion kWh (5.6 % of the total production in 2013), and heat - 101.6 million Gcal (+2 %). The total IFRS revenue is projected at 354 billion roubles (+4.5%), EBITDA – 53.7 billion roubles (+3.8 %).
