State Duma has been submitted a draft law on excise duty rise for petrol from April 1st

​The Government of Russia has submitted for consideration of the state Duma a draft law on the growth of excise duty for gasoline and diesel fuel from April 1st.

The draft law presupposes the changes to article 193 of the Tax Code of Russia. From April 1st 2016 the excise duty for gasoline, directly distilled gasoline, diesel fuel and medium distillates grow.

The excise duty for gasoline is raised by 2 roubles/liter. The excise duty for Euro-5 gasoline from April 1st until December 31st 2016 will make up 10,130 roubles/ton. The excise duty for diesel fuel is suggested being increased by 1 roubles/liter.

The excise duty for diesel fuel will make up 5,293 roubles/ton.

The excise duty for medium distillates is suggested setting at the rate of the excise duty for diesel fuel.

To minimize a possible negative impact from the taken measures for the agricultural sector, the excise duty for diesel fuel is raised by 50% of the growth rate for gasoline.
