Vice-president of SOCAR: reduction of price of Azerbaijani gas from Shah-Deniz-2 for Greece is impossible

Reduction in purchase prices for Azerbaijani gas, which will be acquired by Greece in the framework of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project, is impossible, vice-president of SOCAR on investments and marketing Elshad Nasirov states.

According to him, the price decline in the first place is not consistent with international practice. "If the contract is concluded for 25 years, it provides the change in gas prices in the case of sudden changes in market conditions. But this happens only after the gas begins to be supplied [to a country, which buys gas]. And so gas hasn’t yet begun to be supplied, of course, there is no sense to talk about changes in the prices,"- said Nasirov.
