Oil export duty to fall by almost 40% in Russia from Jan 1st

The export duty for oil in Russia from Jan 1st 2014 will fall by $107.3 to $170.2 per ton, calculations of Interfax say based on the data of the Ministry of Finance.

Currently the export duty for oil is $277.5 per ton. The expert of the Ministry of Finance, A. Sakovich, said that the average price of the monitoring from November 15th until December 15th is $70.994 per barrel or $518.3 per ton.

So the Government will evidently set the duty at $170.2 per ton.

The preferential duty for oil of the Eastern Siberia, Caspian deposits and Prirazlomny deposit due to the new calculation formula will make up $11.9 per ton from Jan 1st (from November 1st - $107.3). The duty for super viscous oil will fall by $5.7 to $22.
