Gazprom worries about gas transit through the Ukraine, but it’s ready to look for compromises

On Thursday, Gazprom and Naftogas Ukrainy held negotiations in Moscow. According to unofficial information, the parties could agree on October supplies of Russian “blue fuel” to Naftogas – previously the companies had disagreements on the volumes and price of it. A number of key issues are still unsolved, but Gazprom talks about possible compromises.

On Thursday, the Gazprom’s CEO, Alexei Miller met the Naftogas Ukrainy’s Head, Evgenie Bakulin. As the Russian company’s Information Department reported in the evening of that day, mainly issues of payment of debts for supplied gas were discussed, as well as the fulfillment of conditions for fail-safe transit of Russian gas to Europe in the forthcoming winter.
