Norwegian Lundin Petroleum discovered new oil and gas reserves on the Barents Sea

Lundin Petroleum has discovered significant oil-and-gas reservoir at the structure Atlas on the Barents Sea during the exploration operation. According to preliminary assessment, oil and gas resources, suitable for production, make up 125-400 million barrels in oil equivalent gross weight, of which 85-310 million barrels of oil (14-50 million cubic meters).

The bore holes have been drilled at the site Alta, 20 km to the north-east from the deposit Gota, which is 160 km away from the Norwegian coast. The deposit is located on ice-free zone during the whole year.
