Serbia is about to ask Russia to reconsider the contract on the privatization of NIS

Serbia is about to apply to the Russian authorities with a proposal to reconsider the agreement on the privatization of “Oil Industry of Serbia” (NIS) by “Gazpromneft”. Prime Minister A.Vuchich said.

“The problems will be solved during the meeting with V.Putin, D.Medvedev and A.Miller,” he says.

The Prime Minister noted that the earnings of NIS are based on the production of Serbian oil and gas at the lowest production tax in the region (3%). However, Serbia receives only EUR 29 million from the total 400 million Euro of net profit of the oil company, RBK states. “We will try to change something, but if they do not agree, we will not be able to do anything,” A.Vuchich said commenting the forthcoming negotiations.
