Rostec contends for Sukhoi Log

The project of the development of one of the largest gold deposits in the world Sukhoi Log in the Irkutsk region may finally get off the ground. As the Kommersant has got to know, Rostec has returned to the idea of ​​development of the deposit by the state-owned corporation itself, prepared corresponding proposals and recently submitted them to the Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev. The Government has postponed bids for licenses for Sukhoi Log for 15 years, they are now scheduled for early 2016. The interest of Rostec makes the plans real, but experts believe that the it will be difficult for the state corporation to handle with the project alone, and expects "complex alliances".

Rostec wants to develop one of the largest gold deposits in the world - Sukhoi Log in the Irkutsk region, the Kommersant’s sources familiar with the plans of the state corporation report. According to them, the project can be developed by a subsidiary of Rostec RT - Global Resources, which is already engaged with Alexander Nesis’s ICT group in the Tomtor rare earth metals deposit in Yakutia, plans to develop the Ogodzhinskoye coal deposit in the Amur region together with Chinese Shenhua and do gold mining in the Trans-Baikal region in partnership with Mangazeya of Sergei Yanchukov.
