From 2014 the zones of Siberia and Caspian Sea to get main part of public financing

The public financing of oil and gas prospecting in Russia will be redistributed in favour of the main prospective petroleum zones in western and eastern Siberia and the Caspian Sea region.The Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, S.Donskoi said.

The question is about 5 prospective zones, three of which are located in Western Siberia (Karabash, Yugansko-Koltogorskaya, Gydansko-Khatangskaya zones), one – in Eastern Siberia (Argishsko-Chunskaya) and one in Caspian Sea region (Ozino-Altatinskaya). They have been chosen after the purposive sample from 24 zones throughout the country. According to the Ministry of Environment there will be directed 65.23 billion roubles for hydrocarbons prospecting at these zones in the next 7 years. They are about to drill 1071 wells on the territory with an area of 618 thousand square kilometers during this time
