The Ukraine and Poland to construct a gas pipeline – interconnector in 2017

Gas transportation operators of the Ukraine “Ukrtransgas” and Poland “Gaz-System” have worked out technical and economic explanation of the construction o the gas pipeline-interconnector between the 2 countries with the length of 99.3 km and are ready to start the project works, the head of the PR department of Ukrtransgas, M. Belyavsky, said.

The start of construction is planned for 2017, he said.

In the process of construction of such gas pipeline when covering water obstacles a progressive technology of horizontal drilling will be used which will allow to cover the water via layers of crust which are lower than its natural location.

According to the released data, the selected route of the gas pipeline crosses 24 rivers, 27 roads and 1 railroad, 14 other gas pipelines.

Ukrtransgas specifies that it plans to attract over 1,000 its employees to the coming construction works.
