Severstal has mastered new assortment at the ball rolling mill

Severstal has mastered the production of balls of the maximum (4th) group of firmness at the ball rolling mill of the Cherepovets metallurgical plant.

The mastering of the new assortment is connected with the demands of the market. Balls of the 4th group of firmness are mainly meant for clients specializing in grinding of ore of non-ferrous metals, concrete and refractory materials. Their production became possible due to the change of the rolling technology, in particular, correction of temperature modes.

Until now the Cherepovets metallurgical plant could produce balls o the 1st, 2nd and 3rd groups of firmness which were mainly used in the resource division of Severstal to grind ore at the ball mills, the CEO of the division Severstal Russia Steel, V. Germanov, says.

The new assortment has a high strength that will allow consumers to reduce the expenditure of balls, and the Cherepovets metallurgical plant – to significantly expand  the geography of supplies.

The plant has already sent steel balls to its new clients: Stoylensky GOK, Atomstroiservice, Multistal, Vologda bearing plant and others.
