The Ukraine to start gas import through Slovakia in test mode

Today Kiev will take the next step on the road to diversification of energy resources import to the Ukraine, started test supplies of natural gas through Slovakia in reverse mode, the Prime transmits.

Earlier the Ukrainian operator of main pipelines and underground gas storages Ukrtransgas offered the Slovakian party to use one of four interstate gas strings that connect the both countries.

The Head of the Republic’s Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry Eduar Stavitsky reported on Monday that the test gas import might last about 7-10 days. By its results, the country “will receive the possibility to attract supplies of natural fuel on this route that will influence decrease of price at our gas market”.
