Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage want to terminate a license from BP-TNK’s subsidiary

The Commission of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage (RPN) has considered the results of the State geological supervision and offered Rosnedra to pre-term terminate the license of the BP-TNK’s subsidiary Rospan International of the East-Urengoy gas condensate deposit, as well as Rosneft’s 25 licenses of hydrocarbon sites in Chechnya, the RIA Novosti reports.

An employee of the RPN’s Chechnya Department explained to the agency that the recommendation to revoke the license of Rosneft was made in connection with the abuses of the license agreement. He didn’t specify the details and didn’t name the violations.
Rospan International develops the East-Urengoi and Novo-Urengoi gas sites in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. The company’s license could be revoked in 2007 because of non-compliance with licensing requirements.

Rospan is a key project in the development strategy of the TNK-BP’s gas business. Now the project is at the stage of the pilot development with output of about 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 0.6 million tons of condensate per year.
