Lavrov calls EU to change its attitude to South Stream

Russia hopes the European Commission’s opinion will be based on the interests of the population and businesses of the EU countries in the issue of realization of the South Stream gas pipeline. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, S. Lavrov, said at the meeting with the representatives of the Association of European Business.

“We hope the European Commission will turn away from the politically motivated approach to the construction of this gas pipeline and will base their decisions on the interests of the population and businesses of the EU countries, taking into account the position of the countries-participants which support its realization”, S. Lavrov said.
