Gazprom won’t build underground gas storages for Sila Sibiri as yet

Gazprom won’t build underground gas storages for Sila Sibiri as yet, the CEO of Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk Ltd A. Titov says to the journalists in Tomsk.

Mr. Titov explains that the underground gas storages are built usually in the regions where gas is consumed unevenly and the peak demand exists that cannot be provided by the gas pipeline and the mines. In this case, they are two mines with immense gas reserves and a gas pipeline with annual capacity of 60 billion cubic m of gas. ‘The volume enables to execute the export liabilities and to cover the demand in gasification of all territories where the gas pipeline is laid. Thus, construction of underground gas storages is economically unreasonable as yet’, he says.
