Gazprom turns away from Vladivostok LNG project
Gazprom is considering off turning away from the Vladivostok LNG project in favour of the construction of the route gas pipeline the capacity of which will initially make up 15 bln cubic m with the possibility of further expansion, Gazporm’s head A. Miller said on October 13th.
Gazprom is ready to consider the opportunity of pipeline gas supply for exports to China as an alternative to the Vladivostok LNG project.
“We will study such an opportunity”, A. Miller said.
“If the decision is made in favour of the pipeline supply, then those gas volumes that were meant for the supply to the plant, will be fully directed to China”, he said.
According to Mr. Miller, at such distances the pipeline supplies are more competitive, as there is a schedule of dependence of the economic efficiency on the volumes and distance.
