Analysis: The Ukraine causing problems for the oil and gas sector of Russia

In the past fifteen years, the Ukraine has created serious problems for the oil and gas sector of Russia. Every year, the situation become worse. The policy of the Ukrainian authorities forced Russia to build Nord Stream, and to begin the construction of South Stream. The seizure of the Kremenchug refinery by Kolomoisky, the exorbitant taxes and corruption drove Russian companies out the oil processing sector of the Ukraine. There were other targeted anti-Russian actions. However, the most serious blow to the oil and gas sector of Russia became the Ukrainian crisis of this year. The Ukrainian crisis of 2014 dealt a serious blow to the Russia's economy and its position on the global market. At the moment, the greatest damage was incurred by the oil and gas industry, the defense industry and the banking system of Russia. Let’s dwell on the losses, suffered by the oil and gas industry of the country, and the consequences of them. This article will show that, at a modest estimate, only a net cash loss of the Russian oil and gas companies because of the crisis making up $26 billion. In case of a thorough assessment of the loss and taking into account missed profits the loss of the Russian companies will be increased by several times.
