Almalyk mining complex resumes construction at Kalmakyr

The Almalyk mining complex Plc. has resumed the construction of the crushing-conveyor complex at the Kalmakyr gold-copper deposit after the introduction of technical changes, a representative of the complex reported.

This spring the complex stopped the tenders for purchase of the equipment due to reconsideration of the deposit's development parameters. After the technological enhancement it was decided to increase the capacity of the complex by one third – to 30 million tons of ore per year. At the same time, the initial amount of the project – $89 million remained unchanged. The project implementation period is two years.
