The Ukrainian debts are costly for "Gazprom".

The monopoly has accrued 179 billion roubles of reserves for them.

For the first time since the crisis in 2008 "Gazprom" RAS reports showed a quarterly loss of 7.5 billion roubles (Q2 2014). The main reason was the Ukrainian debts for gas, for which the monopoly has accrued a reserve of 180 billion rubles. According to the analysts, in 2014 as a result the dividends of "Gazprom" could fall by 10%, even with an increase in the financial performance in H2.

In H2 "Gazprom" gained a RAS net loss of 7.5 billion roubles compared with a net profit of 58.76 billion roubles in the previous year (the calculations of "the Kommersant", in Q1 the profit was 162.5 billion roubles). Prior to that "Gazprom" last time pointed out the RAS net loss in Q4 2008, when it overestimated the investments after the fall of the exchanges during the financial crisis. Now the key reason for the drop was the creation of a reserve for the doubtful accounts worth 179.3 billion roubles (about $ 5.1 billion). It is the duty of "Naftogaz of the Ukraine" and the interest thereon. "Gazprom" estimated the total amount of debt at $ 4.5 billion (the same size as indicated in the claim of the monopoly in the Stockholm arbitration on June 16). As a result, in H1 2014 the net profit of "Gazprom" fell 1.6 times up to 155 billion roubles. The revenue rose by 10% to 2.1 trillion roubles.
