"Norilsk Nickel" can separate the old platinum assets.

MMC "Norilsk Nickel" is exploring the possibility of allocating some of its aging assets of platinum group metals, located in the Arctic, into a separate company, the First Vice-President Pavel Fedorov informs.

According to him, this is due to a new strategy. In 2013 the Board of Directors of MMC "Norilsk Nickel" has adopted a new strategy, under which MMC will focus on working with world-class assets in Russia, monetizing non-core and underperforming foreign capacities and enhance the role of copper and platinum group metals in its portfolio.
