Viktor Zubkov: There are no significant disparities in the taxation of the oil and gas industry in Russia.
There are no significant disparities in the taxation of the oil and gas industry in Russia, Viktor Zubkov announced at a meeting of Gazprom's Board of Directors.
According to him, increasing the tax burden on the gas industry will negatively affect the economic performance and the investment attractiveness of the large-scale projects implemented by "Gazprom". In recent years there has been a substantial increase in the tax burden on the gas industry. So, since 2010, the MET rate on gas for "Gazprom" has increased by almost 5 times - up to 700 roubles per thousand cubic meters of gas in the first half of 2014 (for the independent producers - by 3.2 times, up to 471 roubles per thousand cubic meters). Starting from the second half of 2014 the severance tax rate on the natural gas and condensate is calculated according to a special formula, which in particular takes into account the average price for the gas in the domestic and foreign markets and the oil prices, as well as the complexity of gas extraction".
