Russian copper company to headquarter in model of copper atom

The Russian Copper Company (RMK) has presented the project of its new headquarters at the International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom 2014". RMK has invited specialists of world-famous architectural bureau "Foster + Partners" for its development, UralPolit.Ru reports.

The main theme in the work on the design became copper as the main product of the company. The basis for the design of the facade of the future headquarters was taken structure of crystal lattice of the copper atom. The design also actively used the copper color.The faceted flat facades of the RMK’s new headquarters will use daylight to illuminate the interior; this approach meets the principles of energy saving. The construction of the new headquarters will begin in August, the building is scheduled to be launched in two years.

"Our goal is to build not only a comfortable office, but also to create a new calling card in Yekaterinburg. There is no doubt that the building of the famous architects will become a new gem of center of the Urals Federal District. We plan to landscape around the office building, to lay out a park, which will be the meeting place for walks of townspeople and tourists. Sure this building will take its rightful place among the architectural landmarks of the city, making it more beautiful,"- the press centre of Russian Copper Company says.
