A new casting line has been launched at Khakasiya aluminium plant
UC Rusal has launched a modernized casting line Brochot #2 at the Khakasiya aluminium plant. The investment into the project made up $4.6 mln.
The modernized complex will produce primary cast alloys in the form of 16 kg ingots the shape of which was specially worked out by the employees of Rusal. The main consumer of this type of product will the car manufacturing industry (production of cast wheel disks, elements of engine and mounting). The capacity of the complex will be 82 thousand tons a year.
The project is realized in the framework of Rusal’s strategy on the rise of the stake of alloys in the total volume of output. Due to the modernization of capacities the stake of alloys at the Khakasiya aluminium plant will rise from 13 thousand to 82 thousand tons a year and will make up 28% of the total volume of aluminium output at this plant.
