Germany becomes centre of gas trade due to Russian fuel

Pipeline supplies of Russian natural gas to Germany has increased the trade turnover of the European state and turns it into large supplier of fuel to other countries.

This conclusion was made by the experts of the research centre Prospex Research in a review, dedicated to the German gas market. Thus, according to the report, last year the volume of gas trade operations in Germany grew by 20% to record level of 2947 TWh, while in 2012 this performance was 2460 TWh.

Today “blue fuel from Russia covers 39% of Germany’s energy needs. In the previous year, Russian gas made up 31% on the German market.

There is a chance that Poland and the Czech Republic will also buy fuel from Germany in case if Russia reduces the supplies to the Ukraine, the experts think.
