Senators have had a fling at coal – Sibuglemet has changed its owners

Conflict of shareholders of Sibuglemet, the largest independent coke coal producer in Russia, has completed with the sale of this holding company to structures of the Ingushetia’s senator Akhmet Palanjoev. The asset price might be up to $1.6 billion. The market’s participants say that the Dagestan’s senator Suleiman Kerimov, partner of the Sibuglemet’s ex-owner Anatoly Skurov, participates in the deal. Representatives of Suleiman Kerimov don’t confirm this, but the businessman has organized the sale of shares of companies, in which he is interested, to the third persons.

As the Kommersant has known, the largest Russian independent coke coal producer Sibuglemet, in which a shareholder conflict took place from 2010, has changed its owners. Sources, close to Sibuglemet, told that its co-owners Vladimir Melnichenko, Valentin Bukhtoyarov and Anatoly Skurov sold their shares to a group of investors, close to the Ingushetia’s senator Akhmet Palankoev. The other co-owner of the holding company Alexander Shukin, left it before the deal, the Kommersant’s interlocutors say.
