In Q1, Severstal increased Russian steel production by 9%

In the first quarter of 2015, one of the largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies in the world Severstal of Alexei Mordashov increased the Russian steel production by 9% as compared with the same period of the previous year and by 2% as compared with the previous quarter, produced 2.96 million tons of steel.

According to the press centre of the company, the increase in the steel production was influenced by the low base of the previous quarter, in which Severstal held repair of one of its converters. At the same time, in the first quarter, the loading of Severstal steel capacity was close to 100%.
